Diabetic Honey Wheat Bread with Flaxseed Recipe

For those who has bread machines, this diabetic honey wheat bread with flaxseed recipe is just great for you as you can easily produce it in a jiffy.  This recipe is meant for a 2 pound bread machine.

 

Ingredients

 

1 1/8 cups water

2 tbsps canola oil

2 1/2 cups white bread flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1 1/2 tbsps dry milk

1/4 ground flaxseed

1 1/2 tbsps honey

Salt to taste

3 tsps active dry yeast or 2 tsps fast-rise yeast

 

Method

  1. Measure the ingredients and place them into the bread machine pan one after the other except for the yeast.  Add them in the order as instructed in the bread machine owner's manual.  In most cases, the liquids are usually added first followed by the dry ingredients.

  2. Make a well in the flour mixture and place the yeast in the well.

  3. Select the "wheat bread" setting and press "Start".  Delayed-time bake cycles or rapid are also suitable selections.

  4. When finished, let the bread cool down a bit before removing from the pan.  Cut the bread into 12 slices and serve with canola margarine, butter, reduced-fat peanut butter or any favourite preserves.  You can even use them to make your favourite sandwiches.
