Cancer-fighting Onion Soup Recipe

Both onions and miso are cancer-fighting food hence this simple to cook yet healthy delicious cancer-fighting onion soup recipe using these two ingredients makes it an ideal choice for those suffering from cancer or for prevention of cancer.




1/2 cup rice

Distilled water

2 cm cube unsalted butter

2 big onions, skinned and cut into 1 cm cubes

Miso to taste

Spring onions for garnishing, chopped



  1. Place the rice and sufficient distilled water in a saucepan and bring to boil.  Reduce heat and simmer until you get a thick broth.  If water is insufficient, just simply add some hot water and continue to simmer.  Remove from heat, add a little more distilled water before straining out the broth and discarding the rice.

  2. Bring a soup pan to heat, add butter and onions and saute onions until transparent.

  3. Add onions into strained broth and bring to boil then remove from heat.

  4. When ready to eat, add in miso and stir well.  Sprinkle with spring onions and serve the soup hot.
